Overview
Today’s lesson begins with a quote from Ellen White and ends with some discussion questions based on her quote. The subject of her quote is “truth.”
Observations
Here are some thoughts on Ellen White’s truth:
- Ellen’s truth doesn’t produce sanctification.
- Ellen’s truth doesn’t produce moral fitness.
- Ellen’s truth isn’t from heaven.
- Ellen’s truth doesn’t refine or purify.
- Ellen’s truth is not “the religion of Jesus.”
The truth from heaven is this:
For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor. 5:21).
By believing in His finished work we are saved eternally and forgiven eternally. He also fills us with the Holy Spirit who seals us and empowers us to live godly lives. By yielding to the Spirit’s leading in our lives we are able to produce fruit that lasts and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
