Day 5: Wednesday, December 1, 2010 - Tempting Lies

Once again referring back to my note on Monday this may or may not have been on inauguration day of that altar. This is not really important but we are introduced now to an older prophet. This prophets sons were watching the face off at the altar and had come home and told their dad all about it. The old prophet catches up with the man who is headed out of town in a different direction.

Notice that he asks the solid prophet to come and have bread at his place. The reason that the older prophet asked him to do this is to try and succeed where Jeroboam had failed. Our solid prophet says he can’t God ordered him not to.

This older prophet then lies and says an angel told him by word of The Lord to come to the older prophets place and eat and drink before going on his way.

Upon hearing the older prophet say this our solid prophet sells out! Perhaps because this prophet is older, but for whatever reason he believes the older prophet. Now before we cry foul, Satan often masquerades as a being of light, so this older prophet who is clearly only THINKING he’s a prophet of God can seem entirely legit.

In fact that’s why there are so many people in churches around the world who are CERTAIN that they are good Christians. These people seem like Christians, they go to church every week they seem to know God. However they do not Know Him and if they don’t realize that in time then Jesus will in the end say…”I never knew you.”
