Day 6: Thursday, September 2, 2010 - Stumbling

 

1. This is a very important section. Read Romans 9:30-32 and answer the following:

1. What did the Gentiles NOT follow after?
   
   
    
2. What was the goal of the Israelites?
   
   
    
3. Why did Israel not attain the law of righteousness?
   
   
    
4. Why did the Gentiles, who were not seeking righteousness, attain it?
    

 

2. What implications can we distill from this section?

 

 

3. Which of the following two methods would be most likely to result in you achieving righteousness?

1. a. Focus on keeping the law as best as you can: being careful to guard the edges of the Sabbath, making sure you pay an honest tithe, read the labels to make sure you eat no unclean substance such as lard, etc., read only SDA periodicals, study the Sabbath School lesson 7 times each week, etc.
   
   
    
2. Take your eyes off you behavior and simple accept Christ as your righteousness and accept the fact that you are saved by nothing but the grace of God and then as an accepted child of God, experience the benefits and responsibilities of being in the family of God.
