Day 2: Sunday, September 2, 2012 - Response to Ministry (1 Thess. 5:12, 13)

This is the first Biblically solid lesson that I have responded to this quarter. God has placed great responsibility on leaders, but He has also placed responsibilities on followers.

But what happens when you don't agree with the teaching, theology, and practice of your leaders? Can you stay under their leadership and obey God's commands to respect and esteem them highly? Can you adhere to their admonishments? I would contend that if you cannot obey God's commands in regards to your church leaders because of their theology, you are continuing in sin. Either they are in error, and you need to move yourself under leaders teaching truth, or you are following theological error and need to repent and submit to these leaders' admonishments. Doing nothing is direct disobedience to God.
