Day 7: Friday, November 11, 2011 - Further Study

In summary for this week, it’s important to understand that the Mosaic Law, including the 10 commandments, was not “done away with” in Christ. Rather, it was fulfilled in Christ. When Jesus met the righteous requirements of the Old Covenant Law, He opened up a new way to the Father. We are convicted of sin by the power of the Holy Spirit who not only reveals our sin to us, but changes us...from the inside out.

Because the Mosaic Law can only bring condemnation (point out that we are fit for hell), it can never give us divine protection from sin and God’s wrath. It can only point out His holiness and that we are unworthy to be in His presence.

In the New Covenant God makes us as brand new creations in Christ and so we can come boldly before the Father, as vessels fit for heaven. Everything changed when Christ died and rose again.
