Commentary on "The Water of Life"
Day 2: Sunday, April 18, 2010
Overview
Today we return to take another look at John 4:1-26 and examine the meaning of ‘Living Water’.
Observations
Living Water has life because it is not stagnant, it moves. Jesus is describing water that is ‘welling up to eternal life’, John 4:14. It is water from a spiritual artesian well that we do not work to draw up from the depths of the ground. In other words, it is water that freely and abundantly wells up into us because of our relationship to our Savior.
This Living Water is a gift from God that a thirsty world doesn’t even know to ask for. When you ask God, he will freely give you this gift.
